IT Specialist

Job Description

The IT Specialist will be responsible for maintaining the organization’s IT network, servers, and security systems. This role is instrumental in helping the organization achieve its objectives by ensuring that its technological systems are running smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and Monitor Systems: Implement, manage, and maintain network systems, servers, and desktops to ensure optimal performance and security.

2. Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems.3. Security Management: Implement and oversee security measures to protect data and manage access controls.

4. Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with software engineering teams to ensure seamless deployment and integration of new applications and systems.

5. Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors and manage contracts for hardware, software, and other IT services.

6. Provide Support and Training: Assist staff with IT-related issues and provide training to ensure they use technology effectively.

7. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date documentation of systems and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. Experience: 1-2 years of proven experience in an IT support role or related field.

3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking (LAN, WAN, VPN), and security protocols.

4. Certifications: Certifications are preferred but not mandatory.

5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other stakeholders.

6. Problem-Solving Ability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.

7. Collaboration Skills: Ability to work closely with development teams, understanding the backend aspects to ensure smooth integration and deployment.

8. Flexibility: Willingness to work outside regular hours as needed to perform maintenance or respond to emergencies.
