Release Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Release Manager to join our team. As the Release Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end release management process, ensuring smooth and successful build releases. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other relevant teams to coordinate and deliver high-quality releases on schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the release management process, including planning, scheduling, and controlling the entire build through each stage and environment.
- Track and resolve impediments and blockers raised by product managers, ensuring they are addressed in a timely manner.
- Assist in tracking the execution of features and provide status updates to stakeholders.
- Coordinate with engineers and product managers to understand the impact of code merges and branches on the release process.
- Manage risks and resolve issues that may affect release scope, quality, and timeline.
- Oversee multiple overlapping complex release milestones, ensuring timely resolution of features and issues and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Track risks and blockers throughout the release development cycles, adjusting priorities as needed, and providing regular updates to the team on release status.
- Prepare comprehensive release notes and documentation for each release to support product teams.
- Coordinate release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Release Manager or similar role, with a track record of successfully managing software releases.
- Strong understanding of release management principles and best practices.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in using release management tools.
- Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes.
